Uninstall the app. All ChipScan data was local-only and is now gone with the app.
There is no server-side data to delete because there is no server. That's the entire deletion procedure.
What's stored, and where
ChipScan stores three categories of data, all in the app's private sandbox on your device:
- Color-to-denomination presets you create
- Scan results you explicitly save to history
- App settings (active preset, color tolerance, display preferences, etc.)
- Kept scan samples, if you switched on “Keep scans I correct” (off by default). Settings has a Delete button that removes every stored sample immediately.
That's it. There is no cloud backup, no account database, no analytics warehouse, no log retention, no user profile, no email subscription list — because ChipScan never collected any of that.
Option 1: Wipe data, keep the app
If you want to reset ChipScan to its first-launch state without removing the app:
- Open ChipScan.
- Go to Settings → Reset App Data.
- Confirm the prompt. The local SQLite database is dropped and recreated empty.
All presets, scan history, and settings are erased. The app behaves exactly as if you'd just installed it.
Option 2: Delete everything
To remove ChipScan and every byte of data associated with it from your device, uninstall the app:
iOS
- Touch and hold the ChipScan icon on your Home Screen.
- Tap "Remove App" → "Delete App" → "Delete."
The app and its entire sandbox (database, settings, any saved scans) are removed.
Android
- Open Settings → Apps → ChipScan.
- Tap Uninstall.
Same result: the app and its data are gone. If you'd like, you can also tap "Storage → Clear data" before uninstalling, but it isn't necessary — uninstall already does that.
What about device backups?
If you have iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google's Android backup enabled in your phone's system settings, your phone may include ChipScan's data in your normal device backup. That backup lives in your iCloud or Google account, not ours.
To remove ChipScan from your backups:
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups → [device] → toggle ChipScan off, then "Delete Data" if available.
- Android: Settings → System → Backup → manage what's backed up via your Google account.
We have no access to and no control over these backups. They are between you and Apple / Google.
Server-side data?
There is none. ChipScan operates a marketing website (the one you're reading) and that's the extent of our online presence. The website does not collect personal data, does not require accounts, and does not have a database storing anything about you.
